Classic and Modern Sports Cars Fill Silverstone Auctions’ NEC Classic

Silverstone Auctions, a specialist and world-class auction house for classic cars, will soon hold the annual NEC auction, a two-day event that features more than 100 classic and modern sports cars, including several rare, low-mileage, and fully restored examples.

Taking place November 11 – 12 at the NEC, Birmingham, in total, nearly 300 lots of automobilia, watches, and cars will cross the auction block. Some of the featured items include:

NEC Classic - Reliant Regal

1968 Reliant Regal: One of the most famous cars to appear on British TV, this Reliant Regal van driven in Only Fools and Horses in 2002. This vehicle comes equipped with letters in its history file confirming authenticity.

2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale: This stunning left-hand drive example shows just 10,895km, and is finished in Argento Metallic. It carries an estimate of £140,000 – £160,000.

1988 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500: This rare Ford Sierra is just one of 56 white cars built, with most of these vehicles coming in black. Preserved for a decade in climate controlled storage, this collectible Ford has just 6,000 miles on the odometer and has undergone £4,000 of overhaul service in 2014.

1973 Porsche 911 S 2.4 Targa: A highly collectible year and model for Porsche enthusiasts, this car is estimated to sell for £125,000 – £145,000, especially with the vehicle’s rare UK right-hand drive configuration, matching numbers, and full restoration.

2016 Jaguar Project 7 F-Type: The most powerful road Jaguar yet, this vehicle was hand-built at the company’s Special Vehicle Operations division and fitted with all top-end running gear. The odometer shows just 12 delivery miles.

1968 Jensen Interceptor MKI: Formerly owned by Eric Morecambre, one half of Britain’s comedic duo “Morcambe and Wise,” this vehicle is finished in Crystal Blue and black leather, and was one of the most expensive sports cars in the world at the time of its purchase. Today, the car is estimated to be worth £90,000 – £110,000.
